Computer Requirements

Students will be required to access Desire 2 Learn (D2L), a web-based learning management system. In additions, students gain access and work within the JustInTime Medicine application. Please review the required and recommended computer specs on D2L's Technical Requirements page. Due to the computerized testing initiative, these minimums may change in the future.

COMPUTER NEEDS

  • Windows 7.0 or higher (no XP!) or Mac OS 10.7 or higher
  • Intel Core 2 processor or better
  • 2 Gb motherboard RAM (more is better!)
  • 7 Gb of free space on hard drive
  • Minimum of 1024x768 display (1280x800 or higher strongly recommended) with OpenGL 2.0 or higher support running in at high/photo realistic color mode
  • Webcam

REQUIRED SOFTWARE (all free)

  • At least two of the most recent versions of: Internet Explorer 11 or Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and/or Apple Safari browsers
  • Java player
  • Flash player
  • Adobe Reader
  • Google Apps via MSUNet Login
  • Shockwave player (some Biomedical Science Labs may use this player)
  • Quicktime player (some Biomedical Science Labs may use this player)

RECOMMENDED SOFTWARE (all free)

  • Skype
  • Zoom videoconferencing via MSUNet Login
  • Personal cloud storage space (e.g. Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive)
