Applying to the College of Human Medicine

Michigan State University College of Human Medicine blends the strengths of community-based medical education with the power of scientific discovery, creating excellence in education and care. We enhance our communities by providing outstanding primary and specialty care, promoting the dignity and inclusion of all people, and responding to the needs of the medically underserved.

As a community-based medical school, the College of Human Medicine is uniquely positioned to provide students with comprehensive training in clinical settings that most closely parallel the environment in which many physicians practice.

There are eight clinical campuses located throughout the state: Flint, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Midland Regional, Traverse City, Southfield, Detroit, and the Upper Peninsula Region. Each clinical campus is led by a Community Assistant Dean and college faculty and is aligned with area hospitals and outpatient facilities that join Michigan State University in creating a rich educational environment for students. All clinical programs offer electives in specialty and subspecialty areas. Research opportunities are also available. The curriculum and evaluation are the same at all campuses.
