Financial aid is handled through the MSU Office of Financial Aid (OFA). Submit your financial aid application (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 1. Once the OFA receives your FAFSA, you can talk with staff about a prospective financial aid offer. The OFA starts awarding financial aid for which you are eligible in mid-March. Award notifications are sent by email to your MSU email account.
MSU’s Federal School Code is 002290.
You will not receive a financial aid offer until the following conditions are met:
• MSU is listed on your FAFSA
• You have been admitted to MSU
• Your Student Aid Report has been accepted by the US Department of Education
Student financial aid award information is also posted to the StuInfo web system.
CHM also offers several scholarships for incoming and current students. However, most of them are for small amounts (the largest being approximately $10,000), and are awarded to one or two entering students. Given this, view any potential award as a tribute to your excellence and only a supplement to your overall financial package and planning.
Scholarship information will be sent to accepted applicants in the Spring of the incoming class year and will be awarded based on certain criteria attached to each particular scholarship.
